fine dining in the houston galleria
The sprawling metropolis of Houston has several areas beyond downtown that offer world-class dining options to consider. One such booming area is the neighborhood known as the Galleria for its proximity to the premier Galleria Mall complex. Trendy and upscale, the dining scene here ranges from stately steakhouses and sumptuous seafood establishments to international haute cuisine that will tempt anyone’s taste buds.

The eponymous boutique Arturo Boada Cuisine is the newest venture by nationally awarded Chef Arturo Boada. The chef led the design for the interior, which is full of vibrant color and visual flavor that creates an energetic atmosphere for lunch or dinner while guests enjoy pizzas, tapas and desserts prepared in the wood-burning oven. The menu offers great pasta, steak and seafood prepared with only the freshest ingredients complemented by a great selection of wines. Plus, Boada offers an array of signature items, such as Camarones en Hamaca Henesy, mussels with tomatillos, Mama Sonia Raviolis and the Whole Nine Yard Salad.

Known as a “monumental restaurant,” the Capital Grille features an impressive menu of nationally renowned dry-aged steaks and fresh seafood that ignites the culinary imagination. The complementing award-winning wine list offers more than 5,000 bottles. Capital Grille holds itself to the highest quality standards in all aspects of the dining experience and thus was awarded “Achievement of Excellence” by the American Culinary Federation and recieved the Distinguished Restaurants of North America (DiRoNA) award. Capital Grille has a variety of comfortable private dining rooms for groups and events, and each room has an aura of relaxed elegance and intimacy amid warm mahogany, brass accents and one-of-a-kind Art Deco chandeliers. Also consider the private Wine Room for up to 30 and the semiprivate Upper Level or the Alcove for up to 42 or 25 people, respectively.

Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House began in Dallas more than 20 years ago. The Houston Galleria location embodies the same rich tradition of fine American steak houses, impeccable chef-driven cuisine, an award-winning wine list and excellent hospitality. With aged USDA Prime Beef as the cornerstone of the menu, Del Frisco’s serves only the best hand-cut steaks, chops and freshest seafood including Australian cold-water lobster tails; mouthwatering appetizers, side dishes and desserts; and on-staff sommeliers to guide guests through the extensive wine collection for a perfect complement to their meal. Ideal for special occasions or business gatherings, Del Frisco’s private and semiprivate spaces come complete with warm hospitality, custom menus of the finest steak and seafood options and personalized beverage service. The dedicated private-dining coordinators help personalize the event for an unforgettable experience.

Masraff’s long has been recognized as a premier restaurant in Houston with its affordable elegance, attentive yet unobtrusive service and impeccably prepared fresh American cuisine. Its newest location in the heart of the Galleria area provides the perfect ambiance for business gatherings, private gatherings or al fresco dining. Guests get spectacular views with their dining experience while seated in the stunning bar area with its elevated fireplace or on The Patio on the Boulevard by the waterfall. Masraff’s also offers several private dining options with a host of different hors d’oeuvres, menu options and dining styles in its galleries and cellar spaces with optional audiovisual capabilities for groups of 12 to 60. The Atrium also seats up to 40 for a different experience, and larger groups can book the main dining room or the whole restaurant for up to 350.

Mo’s...A Place for Steaks has a sexy yet sophisticated ambiance combined with great food and unmatched service. Beautifully cut, cooked and plated wet-aged steaks join the extensive wine list for an experience of luxurious indulgence as guests settle deep into leather chairs, listen to live music from the baby grand or relax on the patio with a martini. More than just steaks, Mo’s offers other succulent entrées, appetizers, sides and desserts for every taste, and it has two private rooms for business gatherings or special occasions, or you can arrange to book the entire restaurant.

Morton’s exists today because of the “Million-Dollar Hamburger” created long ago in Montreal, but three decades later, it has grown to more than 69 world-class restaurants, with the first in Chicago in 1978. The Houston Galleria location still offers that same quality, consistency and genuine hospitality in a setting where guests experience a high level of respect and enthusiasm to go along with what Morton’s does best: steaks. Using only the Top 2 percent of USDA Prime aged beef, Morton’s claims “The Best Steak… Anywhere” and offers dining space for events for 10 to 120 guests where they can enjoy great food, fine wines and specialty cocktails served by a professional staff. State-of-the-art audiovisual capabilities are available in Morton’s Velocity Suites, or you can choose one of the private dining rooms with various capacities to meet your needs.
