In the Galleria/Uptown area, McCormick & Schmick’s (also with a location in Downtown) is famous for seafood and well-dressed clientele and features happy hour Monday through Friday from 4–6:30 p.m. with a menu of dishes under $5, select wines and cocktails for $6 and $3.50 select beers. Mo’s... A Place for Steaks supplements its succulent steak and dining options with its lounge that opens daily at 4:30 p.m. Philippe, a creation by “French cowboy” Philippe Schmit, features a happy hour on weekdays from 4–6:30 p.m. that offers $3 import beers, $5 house wines, $6 specialty cocktails and $4 selections from the +Eats menu.

Also in the Galleria/Uptown area, RDG + Bar Annie hosts a happy hour Monday through Friday from 4–7 p.m. with featured wines and cocktails as well as select appetizers for $6 plus select beers for $3. With one of the earliest weekday happy hours around, Tony Mandola’s features several dishes for under $7, domestic beers for $3 and wines for $5 from 2–6 p.m. The sophisticated Truluck’s, known for seafood, steak and crab offers happy hour Monday through Friday from 4–7 p.m. with half-off appetizers, including calamari, tuna tartar and steamed littleneck clams, as well as 25-percent discounted wine bottles and $1 off specialty cocktails like their Key Lime Pie martini.

The Heights features a few great places, including Benjy’s on Washington, which has happy-hour specials Monday through Saturday from 4–7 p.m. that include $5 appetizers, such as grilled calamari and pistachio-crusted goat-cheese cakes, and select wines and cocktails for $5. Branch Water Tavern features everyday specials from 4–7 p.m. on an impressive array of handcrafted beer, boutique wines, American whiskeys and other spirits as well as items on a select appetizer menu. Hughes Hangar, a 1920s speakeasy gastro lounge, combines a timeless backdrop of elegant comfort and alluring ambiance to go with daily deals of a $5 menu of libations and appetizers from 4–7 p.m. Sonoma Retail Wine Bar and Restaurant offers happy hour Monday through Saturday from 3–7 p.m. with daily food specials, $3 beers, wines by the glass for $5 and their signature Red Wine Sangria by the glass for $5 or by the pitcher for $15.

In the Highland Village area, Vin Bar offers daily drink deals from 4–7 p.m. that include $5 house wines, $3 domestic beers and half off all Valentino cocktails as well as food specials like $5 appetizers and a $14 Crudo and Wine Flight.

In Midtown, Nouveau Antique Art Bar offers an artful atmosphere with its weekday happy hour from 4:30–8 p.m. that includes $1.50 discounts on all drinks. Tuesday through Thursday at 4 p.m., T’afia has a daily changing lounge menu from which the food is free with the order of adult beverages, including the house-specialty infused wine called Ratafia.

In River Oaks, Cova, a fashionable but comfortable tapas restaurant, hosts happy hour Monda y through Saturday from 4–7 p.m. and all night Monday for ladies with $5 appetizers and select wines. La Griglia offers relaxation and refreshment from 3–6 p.m. on weekdays with a happy hour featuring delicious appetizers and terrific drink specials. Nightly until 7 p.m., Fleming’s Steakhouse offers $6 appetizers, including beef carpaccio, sweet chili calamari and barbecue shrimp, and beverage specials like $6 wines by the glass and specialty cocktails. On weekdays at the River Oaks location of The Tasting Room, happy hour runs 2–6 p.m. and features wines by the glass and other libations for $6 or less and a food menu of pizzas and appetizers for under $8.

In the Theater District, Artista at Houston Hobby Center for the Performing Arts offers daily happy-hour specials from 4–7 p.m. that include $3 beer, $4 house red or white wines by the glass and $5 mixed drinks.
