Annual Open House at The Gordon Ranch
For Immediate Release:

The Gordon Ranch held it’s annual Open House the first week of March.  There were plenty of activities for attendees and their children to enjoy.  Inside the air conditioned Lodge was decorated to showcase typical western decor along with a colorful and fun carnival theme.  Activities were plentiful in this 7,000sq ft unobstructed space and included games such as pool, air hockey, foosball and ping pong tables.  In addition, the caricaturist, face painters, airbrush tattoo artist, and clown with her very creative balloon animals were kept busy throughout the day.

Outside ranch activities showcased pony rides, petting zoo, boating, two swimming pools with bath houses, volleyball, horseshoes, a large playground area for kids of all ages with sandpit filled with shovels and buckets, a 9-hole mini golf course, obstacle course, rope bridge and beautiful grounds.  Guests were transported around the ranch by hayride and the ranch’s trackless train.

The first of March found spring arriving at The Gordon Ranch with the manicured grass turning green and trees beginning to bloom.  The many pecan trees had not yet leafed but hold promises of a big harvest this fall.

The ranch is a perfect location for special events of all types.  Besides corporate picnics the ranch is host to meetings, team building activities, church picnics, association banquets and picnics, family and class reunions and birthday parties.

The air-conditioned Lodge is just one of the facilities at the ranch.  There are four open-air pavilions each located on approximately 2.5 acres with their own restroom facilities, volleyball, horseshoe pits and areas of play.

One of the unique features of The Gordon Ranch is the Feldman Family Village.  This area has two bunk houses which can accommodate 50 guests each along with the cottage complete with full kitchen, restrooms, meeting/dining area and wrap around porch.  This area is surrounded by oak trees and backs up the lake…one of the best locations on the ranch.  Groups staying overnight have the pleasure of a tractor-pulled hayride followed by a bonfire.

School groups enjoy a variety of programs at the ranch.  In the spring students have great end of year field days and at the beginning of the school year specialty groups from schools enjoy overnight activities as a way of teambuilding and bonding for the year.

They say location is everything and the ranch has the perfect location.  It’s just 35 miles from downtown Houston and 15 miles from both Sugar Land and Katy.  There are several easy ways to access The Gordon Ranch including Highway 59, West Houston Tollway, and Highway 90.

To quote one guest attending the Open House with her family:  “We had an amazing time.  Thank you!”
